Job Purpose
The Automotive Technician – Body Works is responsible for restoring, repairing, and maintaining the structural integrity and exterior condition of Ground Support Equipment (GSE). The purpose of this role is to ensure all GSE bodywork remains safe, functional, and compliant with operational standards by carrying out accident damage repairs, corrosion treatment, structural assessments, and preventive body maintenance. This position directly supports equipment reliability, safety performance, and operational readiness by ensuring all bodywork repairs are completed to high-quality standards and fully documented for traceability.
Key Responsibilities
Ability to communicate effectively in English, Maltese, or both
Strong teamwork and communication abilities
Effective problem-solving skills, particularly in assessing structural and cosmetic damage
Proficiency in vehicle body repairs, including dent removal, panel replacement, and structural alignment
Basic understanding of engine diagnostics and repairs (as listed in the document)
Experience in specialised areas such as fiberglass repair, glass replacement, and plastic component repair is considered an asset
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in automotive, industrial, or heavy-vehicle body repair
MCAST qualification or equivalent technical certification is considered an advantage
Knowledge of industrial vehicles, heavy vehicles, or automotive systems
