Job Purpose: The Ramp Team Leader is responsible for overseeing ramp operations to ensure the safe, efficient, and timely handling of aircraft on the ground. This role includes supervising ramp agents, coordinating ground services, and ensuring compliance with company procedures, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
1.Supervise and coordinate all ramp activities, including aircraft loading/unloading, baggage handling, and positioning of ground service equipment.
2.Ensure all tasks are performed safely and in accordance with company policies, aviation regulations, and airport authority standards.
3.Act as the main point of contact for ramp operations during assigned shifts.
4.Monitor performance and provide guidance to ramp agents to ensure operational efficiency and safety.
5.Liaise with internal departments (e.g., Load Control, Operations, Dispatch) and external stakeholders (e.g., airlines, handling agents) for smooth turnaround processes.
6.Complete pre- and post-flight checks and ensure accurate documentation is maintained.
7.Conduct on-the-job training and coaching for ramp personnel as needed.
8.Respond to irregular operations (IROPs), including delays or emergencies, ensuring effective communication and coordination.
9.Participate in safety audits, risk assessments, and incident reporting.
Flexibility to work on a roster basis, including weekends and public holidays.
Strong proficiency in both written and spoken English and Maltese.
Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
A valid driving licence (Maltese, EU, or UAE) is considered an asset.
